Note: Build Kit 2.0 and Shader Kit 2.0 work with Maya 2025. Shader Kit 2.0 works with Maya 2026.

For the others please upgrade to the latest tool versions.

How to install

Shelf

1. Extract the shelf_RS_Tools.mel file either from

   • shelf_Maya_2022_and_above.zip
   • or shelf_Maya_2020_2019.zip

2. Move the file shelf_RS_Tools.mel to :

   WindowsLinuxMac

   \Users\USERNAME\Documents\maya\MAYAVERSION\prefs\shelves
   

   $HOME/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/shelves
   

   $HOME/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/shelves
   

Icons

1. Extract the files from Icons.zip and move them to:

   WindowsLinuxMac

   \Users\USERNAME\Documents\maya\MAYAVERSION\prefs\icons
   

   $HOME/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/icons
   

   $HOME/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/icons
   

Tools

1. Extract the files from

   • RS_Tools_Maya_MAYAVERSION.zip (depending on your Maya Version)
   • or RS_Tools_Studio.zip (Studio Version)

   and move them to :

   WindowsLinuxMac

   \Users\USERNAME\Documents\maya\MAYAVERSION\prefs\scripts
   

   $HOME/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/scripts
   

   $HOME/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/MAYAVERSION/prefs/scripts
   

Launch / Restart Maya
